Employers who engage in the manufacture or repair of items that require machining processes as well as general job machining use class code 3632.
Machine Operations: The payroll from the following machine processes apply to this code: boring, testing, inspection, turning, assembling, planning, welding, shaping, riveting, milling, bending, drilling, shearing, punching, threading, grinding and tapping. Additionally, any abrasion and blasting completed within the policyholder’s shop also fall within this class code.
Types of Materials & Equipment Used: sheet metal, castings, hardware, forgings, pulleys, bars, gears, rods, shafting, flats, sockets, tubing, chains, pipe, angles, pipe fittings and some lumber.
Machine shop classification 3632 is considered a NOC or not otherwise classified code meaning that unless there is a specific code for manufacturing that exists, the payroll applies under 3632.

3303 Spring Manufacturing – rate decrease of 19.7 percent falling from $7.58 to $6.09.
3146 Hardware Manufacturing – rate decrease of 18 percent with rates falling from $3.56 to $2.92.
3145 Screw Manufacturing – rate increase of 9.8 percent from $2.85 to $3.13.
3400 Metal Goods Manufacturing – decrease in rates by 6.2 percent falling from $8.59 to $8.06.
3629 Precision Machined Parts Manufacturing – decrease of 22.5 percent with rates falling from $2.98 to $2.31.
3132 Nut or Bolt Manufacturing – increase of 13 percent with rates increase from $3.31 to $3.74.
3188 Plumber Supplies Manufacturing – 5.7 percent decrease in rates from $5.63 to $5.31.
