NY Worker’s Comp class code 8293: Storage Warehouse – Furniture & Drivers applies to insureds engaged in the warehousing or storage of furniture for individual customers. Insureds classified under 8293 pack and handle the furniture away from the warehouse, drive the vehicle in which the furniture is transported, as well as receive, store, and release the furniture from the warehouse. The merchandise is not owned by the insured. Insureds that store furniture that they own are assigned to the applicable store classification, not 8293.

NY Workers’ Comp class code 8293 also applies to insureds who move furniture and household goods for individual customers, with or without the use of a storage warehouse. Code 8293 also includes packers that are either employee of a furniture moving or storage warehouse company or employees of furniture packing business without moving and storage.
