What Insureds Can Use NY Workers’ Comp Class Code 3145: Screw Manufacturing

NY Worker’s Comp class code 3145: Screw Manufacturing applies to insureds engaged in the manufacturing of automatically turned wood and machine screws. The raw material used is generally wire stock of steel or brass that the insured receives from outside sources. The stock is fed into the screw machine automatically and then cut off, tapered, shaved, threaded, and slotted to form screws. The screws may be placed in extractors to remove oil from the machining process and may also be mechanically plated and buffed.

NY Workers’ Comp class code 3145 also applies to insureds engaged in the manufacturing of miscellaneous products using automatic screw machines that may include bar stock of steel or brass received from outside sources. NY Workers’ Comp class code 3145 does not apply to machine shops that use automatic screw machines for parts that may be used for a final product of the machine shop.
