Description: Connecticut Workers Compensation Code 5551 applies when the job site is one or two families dwellings and private garages that have sloped roofs. Any type of roofing material may be used such as asphalt shingles, metal, slate, tile or paper. Yard employees and drivers are also included in this code whether at the job site or at a separate location. The work applies to both installations of new or repair of older roofs. This code does not apply to new construction when all of the carpentry work in connection with the construction of dwellings (refer to carpentry codes 5403, 5645 or 5651).
