Which Insureds Can Use NY Workers’ Comp Class Code 8046 – Store: Automobile Parts and Accessories
NY Worker’s Comp class code 8046 – Store: Automobile Parts and Accessories applies to insureds that primarily sell automobile parts and accessories. These include such items as batteries, spark plugs, fuel pumps, oil filters, tires, seat belts, seat covers, windshield wipers, mirrors, and lights. Sales at automobile parts and accessories stores generally occur over the counter. Employees’ duties include greeting customers, checking inventory, pulling parts, and taking payments. Employees may also help install the parts and accessories for their customers as a courtesy. Insureds that are included under NY Workers’ Comp class code 8046 do not engage in general repair or service of motor vehicles.
NY Workers’ Comp class code 8046 does not apply to stores that sell wholesale automobile parts and accessories (8010). Similarly, insureds engaged in the retail sale of tires and tubes, including installation, do not apply to class code 8046 (8380).
